Manon De Pauw’s artistic research takes different forms, such as video art, installation, performance and photography. Her projects spring from a desire to link formalism and performative process, and to create complex visual situations out of a handful of elements. Solo exhibitions of her work have been held at venues such as the Galerie de l’UQAM (2009), Optica (Montreal, 2007), Trinity Square Video (Toronto, 2007), Expression (St-Hyacinthe, 2005), Sylviane Poirier Art Contemporain (Montreal, 2004) and DARE-DARE (Montreal, 2003). Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions and festivals in Canada, Europe and Latin America, such as the MACM Triennial (2008) and the 8th Bienal de video y nuevos medios de Santiago 2007 (Chile). Her work can be found in the collections of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. She collaborated on Danièle Desnoyers’ dance piece Là où je vis, premiered during the Festival TransAmériques 2008. She was assistant professor in Concordia University’s photography department from 2004 to 2009 and has taught at UQAM’s École des arts visuels et médiatiques since 2002.
